The living room in the house that we ended up using to film our horror opening
From another point of view
The hatch that we used to film Jenny looking through into the kitchen, when noticing that the kitchen door is slightly open
The room that Jenny stands in when she looks through the hatch into the kitchen
The kitchen
The kitchen door that in the film Jenny notices is open, and so walks out of this door into the forest next to the house
The room that we used as the killers bedroom, it isn't a very bright room and has lots of dark colors in, which was good considering the horror genre of our film
A mirror that we were thinking of using in our film, but in the end we decided not too, we used one inside the killers bedroom instead
A view of the top of the stairs that Jenny runs up to try and get away from the killer, he then walks up the stairs and corners her to kill her, then Olivia is seen running up the stairs to see what has happened to Jenny
The place where Jenny got killed
The following pictures are from a house that was the original idea for the location of our film, but then it turned out that the homeowner preferred for us not to use their house
The staircase of the house, this staircase doesn't have a carpet and is entirely wood, it is quite old and very very creaky, it would have been perfect for when the characters run upstairs
The view from the top of the stairs, the staircase as you can see has walls on both sides and a door at the bottom, i think the way the stairs are laid out makes them seem creepy
The hallway at the top of the stairs, this hallway, like the stairs, doesn't have a carpet, and is creaky and has a few wobbly floorboards, that when walked on make a loud noise, this again would have been good for our horror film
A close up of the floorboards, including a couple of the loose ones
As a result of us not being able to use the original choice of indoor location, we had to settle on filming it at my own house as a last resort, but i think we still managed to make the movie creepy, even if my location wasn't as good as the other house in terms of horror conventions/mise en scene.
