A moodboard for our film

This is a mood board that our group member Skye made, it shows objects and horror conventions that will feature in our film, they include:
-An abandoned house
-Broken glass/smashed mirror
-slightly ajar door
-The type of alarm clock that is used in our film
-Weapons that a killer might have
-Woods (we used Attenborough Nature reserve)
-Mirrors

These are just a selection of what would be used in our film.

4. Who would be the audience for your media product?

Our audience is teenagers and young adults, within the ages of around 16-18, we have decided though that our film would be an 18 as we have made it gory by using make up. Our audience are probably going to be in college or in university, they would obviously like horror movies and probably spend their free time watching movies with their friends or going to the cinema and watching them. People who enjoy watching horror movies generally like the movies to have gore in them, which is why we have tried to get some gore into our movie. At one point in our film Olivia is relaxing on her sofa reading a magazine, the female members of our target audience would be able to relate to this, as they probably also like to sit down and read a magazine in their free time.

Our target audience is also mainly based around our peers and who we are at college with, we used them for our questionnaire (below) and asked their opinions on our poster, and so for feedback we are going to show them our film to see what they think about it. They are between the ages 16-18 which is part of our overall target audience

Costumes

The clothes that the characters wore weren't really that much of a focus in terms of who the charcaters were, they just has to be wearing casual everyday teen clothes. The only specific detail though was the colour of these clothes, for a apart of the film we used the green screen effect, and so the characters couldn't be wearing green as then in the finished product they wouldn't have a body.

For Jenny:

Ideas for make up before filming

This is before we started filming and we were just trying to think of ideas about how to make our film scary and gory, as we decided the film would be an 18, so therefore it needs to be gory and quite creepy. So the person who we knew doing a make up course did some tests beforehand so that we could see what kind of gory make up she could do and if it would be appropriate for our film. We liked what she could do and so that is when we asked her if she could help out with the make up for us, and she did!

Pictures taken during filming

This is a picture of the noticeboard that is featured in the film, the pictures on the board are pictures of the killers victims that he crosses out once he has killed, in the film he crosses out one of the pictures. It wasn't as clear as this in the film though, but it is still clear to the audience that the killer has crossed a victim out.

This is the make up that we used for our film, it was for the scene after Jenny has been killed by Joe and is seen in the mirror looking out at Olivia. The make up was done by someone we knew who was doing a course in this kind of make up, so we asked her to help out and she did, and so we had our scary and gory horror convention!

Our Storyboards

1. Our film starts with a shot of the alarm clock. Originally we were going to have the clock showing the time of 6:00 but we had a problem with editing and so now we will show the time of 5:59 and have the alarm clock ringing to wake Joe up.

2. We will then have a close up shot of his hand turning the alarm clock off

3. Next is a point of view shot to show him waking up , the screen will fade in and out of darkness as if Joe is blinking.

4. An extreme close up will then show his eyes completley open to show that he is wide awake

5. We then have a medium close up and a crane shot to show how restless Joe is whilst in his bed after just waking up and preparing to get up out of bed.

6.  There will be a ground shot from down on the floor that shows Joe's legs after he has got out of bed and has put his feet on the floor

7. There is then a tracking shot of Joe walking across the room

8. As Joe is walking there will be an over the shoulder shot that shows something significant to the plot in the background

9.  We then see Joe looking into a mirror, his eyes aren't shown, they are hidden by his hoodie, the audience then immediatly thinks that there is something suspicious about Joe and that he might be the anagonist.

10. A close up of a photograpgh of a girl is shown and then Joe crosses out this girl in a red marker pen

11. The X from the photo will then fade out into the next shot which will be of our logo and the same X will be the X in the logo of RedXProductions

12. Olivia and Jenny will walk into the living room, this will be filmed at a normal height and there will be a bit of a tracking shot following them as they enter the room.

13. The two characters exchange some lines of dialouge and then Jenny goes over to the window, the shot shows what she see's as she loks out, which is a forest.

14. There will then be an over the shoulder shot of Jenny looking out of the window

15. Olivia and Jenny are still exchanging some lines of dialouge and Olivia is shown going to sleep on the sofa

16. There is then a shot of a door that Jenny goes to close after realising that it is open whilst she was exploring Olivias house, she starts to hear voices

17. She then goes to open the door to go outside and see if there is anybody else at the house

18. This is an over the shoulder shot of Jenny, so that the audience can see what Jenny see's, this scene is of Jenny walking into a forst area that is outside Olivias house

19. This is an extreme close up of Jenny as she is walking through the forest, this is to show how scared she is after realising that she isn't alone

20. There is another extreme close up of the killers hand holding a piece of mirror shard, when the audience see this shot they should be wondering "What is he going to do with that broken piece of mirror?"

21. There is then a medium shot of Jenny screaming at the sight of the killer and the weapon that he possesses

22. Jenny starts to run away from the killer back towards Olivias house, this shot is the killer walking after Jenny and Jenny running away from him. The killer is walking because it makes him even scarier, especially as he keeps up with Jenny despite thier differing paces

23. The scene then cuts to Olivia who is still asleep but she is restless because she is now hearing voices and she instantly knows what is happening to Jenny

24. We then cut back to Jenny running from the killer back towards the door of Olivias house, to what Jenny thinks will be safety for her. The next few shots will alternate between what is happening to Jenny and what Olivia is doing

25. Olivia hears a smash and is shown  waking up from her sleep

26. After looking around the house Olivia realises that she can't find Jenny and so this shot shows the worry in her face

27. Olivia is shown in this shot running up the stairs voilently in her rush and panic to find Jenny

28. This is an extreme close up which shows Jenny's reaction to the killer from the killers point of view just before he attacks her

29. This is of Jenny being dragged into a mirror, this will be a floor shot, as she is on the floor when she is dragged

30. This is Olivias reaction when she see's the state of the room that Jenny has just been killed in, this shot is a close up of her face so the audience can slearly see her expression

31. There is then a shot of what Olivia has just seen, so that the audience can see what she has reacted too

32. There is then a shot of the mirror that Jenny was dragged into

33. The camera gets closer to the mirror, focusing in on something significant to Olivia

34. This significant is then shown, it is Jenny's necklace that she was wearing all throughout the opening sequence

35. There is then an over the shoulder shot which shows Olivia looking in the mirror and seeing Jenny in it, so she thinks that Jenny is behind her, so she looks behind and Jenny isn't there, so she realises that Olivia is actually in the mirror

36. The title of the film is then shown
